The pack is very lightweight and can be rolled up easily for storage or worn as a backpack when not needed. The leg and tail holes are a sufficient size.
I suggest putting the pack over your shoulders with the sides unzipped, then kneel down to the ground, get dog’s back legs in, then tail, then front legs, then zip one side and make sure that the tail remains properly situated before zipping the 2nd side or putting any of your dog’s weight onto the hind quarters while off the ground. The front of the pack is all mesh and thus, well ventilated. My 19lb pug mix dog doesn’t like other dog packs/backpacks but loves this one.
